Congratulations Chip Miller!

Great Job

Chip MillerChip Miller, a City employee since August of 2013, has been studying for and passed the exam to become a Certified Water Distribution Manager 1.

Applicants must meet specific experience, education, and examination requirements in order to qualify for certification. The general knowledge test consisted of questions in the following content areas; administrative duties, DOH regulations, equipment maintenance, disinfection, math, system design, security and safety procedures.   A competent certified operator must be able to perform duties without endangering public health. Operators must also have the necessary skills, ability, and judgment to properly operate and maintain the facilities and infrastructure.

Some of Chip’s daily duties include water main and service installation and repairs, hydrant flushing, and taking water sample chlorine residuals. Having qualified and well-trained water staff plays a vital role in keeping our water systems well maintained, operational, and ensures we are supplying our customers with safe and reliable drinking water.
