Concealed Pistol License

The city of Snohomish Police Department processes Concealed Pistol Licenses for CITY RESIDENTS ONLY

 

RCW 9.41.070 (13) A person may apply for a concealed pistol license:

(a) To the municipality (city) or to the county in which the applicant resides if the applicant resides in a municipality (city).

(b) To the county in which the applicant resides if the applicant resides in an unincorporated area; or

(c) Anywhere in the state if the applicant is a nonresident.

 

PLEASE READ! If you apply for a CPL and you live outside of the city limits of Snohomish, your CPL application will be declined and monies will be refunded, minus the non-refundable fees charged by Permitium.

Getting a Concealed Pistol License

            You may apply for your CPL, pay and schedule your fingerprint appointment all online.

 

PAPER Application:  CPL-Application (snohomishcountywa.gov)

            Please print this form and bring it into the Snohomish Police Department with an accepted form of ID and proof of address (see list below).

What to Bring

You will need to show proof of identification and proof of address to complete the application process. 


Accepted photo identification is:

Current Washington state driver’s license

Current Washington state identification card

Equivalent out-of-state identification

Law enforcement identification

Military identification card

A current passport

Permanent Resident Card

Alien Firearms License with original Passport and US issued Alien number or admission number


Accepted proof of address is: 

Driver’s License with current address

Temporary Driver’s License with current address

Vehicle registration with current address

Utility bill with current address

Fees for Concealed Pistol License

Original Issue: $49.25 ($36 CPL + $13.25 fingerprinting)

Renewal: $32.00 (up to 90 days before CPL expiration)

Late Renewal: $42.00 ($32 renewal fee + $10 late fee) (up to 90 days after CPL expiration)

Replacement: $10.00 (for lost, stolen or damaged CPL’s)

Original CPL’S - Fingerprinting is required

Fingerprinting for a Concealed Pistol License is by appointment only on Wednesdays.

You may pay online or bring exact cash, check or money order to your fingerprinting appointment. Please make checks or money orders payable to: City of Snohomish 

Processing Time

The permit takes up to 30 days to process and is then mailed to you.

 

Armed Forces Renewal (Out of State Deployment)

 

Currently, deployed members of the Armed Forces who are deployed out of state can renew their concealed pistol license by mail.
 
 The fee for renewal of a Concealed Pistol License by the expiration date is $32. A Concealed Pistol License may be renewed up to 90 days after the expiration date by paying a late fee. The late renewal fee is $10, making the total fee $42.
 
To renew the Concealed Pistol License in this circumstance, contact the Snohomish Police Records Unit at (360) 568-0888 or via email at snohomishpd@snoco.org. We will send you the application either electronically or via standard mail. Completed applications must be submitted with a copy of your original order, designating the period of deployment, a copy of a valid government issued ID and a check payable to the City of Snohomish for the renewal fee.
