10th St Improvements

Project overview

The 10th Street project will replace old, inadequate public utility infrastructure with repair and resurfacing of the road. The project will take place entirely within the City right-of-way of 10th Street from Avenue D to Maple Avenue. Additional work within Avenue A right-of-way is proposed from 10th Street to 11th Street.

What to expect

The 10th Street Overlay project is set to grind and overlay the project area following installation of new water, sewer, and stormwater utilities, as well as full depth repair of failing road sections. All existing utility services will be reconnected to the new installed infrastructure. Expect lane closures and traffic revisions on 10th Street and Ave D during construction. Some customers may experience brief interruptions to utility services.

This project entails:

  • Replacing the existing water main in 10th Street and in Avenue A. New services to connect to existing meters. 
  • Replacing the existing sanitary sewer in 10th Street and in Avenue A. New side sewers will connect to existing customer side sewers at the property line. 
  • Minimal improvements, such as extra catch basins, may be added necessary to improve drainage. 
  • New ADA ramps at road intersections if existing ramps are out of compliance, or none currently exist.
  • Final restoration for 10th Street and Avenue A will involve a complete grind and overlay. 

The Contractor's information will be posted once awarded the project. Residents and businesses may coordinate directly with the contractor and independent of the City for private construction opportunities subject to permit requirements.  Door hangers and flyers will be delivered prior to start of construction with City and Contractor contact information.
