Council Meetings
6 p.m. first and third Tuesday of each month
All meetings are open to the public and are currently held in a hybrid format: in-person in the Lower Level of Carnegie (105 Cedar) and via Zoom (link provided in the agenda).
The City Council Chambers are accessible to people with disabilities. Anyone who needs specialized accommodations should provide 5 days advanced notice by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 360-568-3115.
Public Comment
Public comments are welcome at all City Council meetings. Meetings begin with a public comment period where residents may speak on any city-related topic. Residents may also comment on Public Hearings or Action items during the meeting. In-person comments should be limited to 3 minutes in length. Residents may also submit written public comment to Council via mail or e-mail to the City Clerk. Comments must be received by 3 p.m. the day of the meeting.
Public hearings offer particular opportunities for citizens to comment on important issues such as new ordinances, City budget, comprehensive plan amendments or adoption, and interlocal agreements.
Council Workshops, which precede council meetings, are for council information and discussion only. No citizen comments are accepted.
Public comment, types of meetings, rules of decorum, and other Council conducts of business are passed by resolution, the most current of which can be found here.
