Dr. Anup Deol has proudly called Snohomish home since 2000. A first-generation immigrant who arrived in the United States at the age of nine without speaking English, Dr. Deol learned early the values of hard work, perseverance, and service. Those values have guided her life, her career, and her commitment to the Snohomish community.

After growing up in the SeaTac area, she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Washington and her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry, becoming the first in her family to earn a doctorate, followed by an ocular disease residency at the VA in Huntington, WV. She has practiced optometry since 1995 and is the owner of Eyecare Center of Snohomish. For nearly three decades, she has served local families, veterans, and underserved patients with compassion and dedication.

Dr. Deol volunteers locally through the Lions Club, providing eye care and glasses to uninsured children and seniors, and has participated in international medical missions through Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. She also served two terms on the Washington State Board of Optometry after being appointed by the Governor.

Motivated by a desire to give back to the community and country that provided her opportunity, Dr. Deol ran for City Council to serve Snohomish in a new capacity. She is focused on strengthening public safety, addressing affordable housing, and updating infrastructure while preserving the city’s historic small-town character.

Dr. Deol brings a leadership style grounded in honesty, integrity, transparency, and accountability. She is committed to thoughtful, common-sense decision-making that reflects the diverse voices of Snohomish and ensures the city remains a place where families and small businesses can thrive.
