Calculating Occupancy Limits for Businesses Reopening after Covid-19 Closures

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) INFORMATION

Governor Jay Inslee recently issued a proclamation and guidelines allowing for the opening of restaurants and limited in-store retail operations for when the state enters Phase 2 for the reopening of businesses after the Covid-19 closures.

The guidelines limit occupancy of restaurants to 50% of the maximum building occupancy as determined by the City’s fire code.  Similarly, the occupancy for any in-store retail operation cannot exceed 30% of the fire code’s max...

Garbage Service Rate Changes

Each year the City’s contract with Republic Services for garbage collection requires a review and potential rate modification based on the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Trash Collection Services

The CPI change from October 2018 to October 2019 was an increase of 2.88%. The revised rates have been posted on the website and were effective April 1, 2020.

Development Permits Still Being Issued

Despite the fact City Hall is closed to the public and most City employees are working from home in order to slow the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19, you can still submit permit applications and receive approved permits.
