Detention Pond Webinar hosted by Snohomish Conservation District

Join the Snohomish Conservation District March 23rd at 5 PM for an informative dive into how detention ponds work and why they matter.

City of Snohomish - NewsFlash Posted on February 17, 2026

Join the Snohomish Conservation District online on March 23rd at 5pm to learn about what a detention pond is, how they function, and what property owner’s and manager’s responsibilities may be for their maintenance.

Did you know that there are over 15 privately owned and maintained stormwater detention ponds in the City? These ponds are important pieces of stormwater infrastructure and vital habitats. Each pond needs to be maintained to keep water clean and neighborhoods safe.

Don’t have a pond but you’re still curious? This webinar doesn’t have an attendance limit, so feel free to sit in and learn about the great work our neighbors do. Maybe one day, you’ll move to a neighborhood with a pond, too!
