[ARCHIVED] Water Main Repaired, but Boil Water Advisory Remains in Effect for 75 Homes Until Further Notice

A boil water advisory is still in effect for 75 households along S. Carpenter Rd and OK Mill Road.

Snohomish, Wash. – A boil water advisory is still in effect for 75 households along S. Carpenter Rd and OK Mill Road. After Public Works crews restored service following a reported water main break on Sunday night, four houses in the area reported that they were still without water. City staff connected with a member of each household to ensure they had access to other sources of water.

Yesterday, Public Works crews excavated the 18” pipe and discovered a 12” by 1” break. While they were working on repairs to the 30+ year-old pipe, additional sections broke. Crews called in a certified local contractor and suspended work for the night. This morning, repair parts were located and the line was reenergized this afternoon.

It is expected that all customers will have water restored by midnight tonight, but the boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice, including to the households where service is expected to be restored tonight. The City will provide an update when the boil water advisory is lifted and no longer in effect. All customers impacted by the break and boil water advisory received notification from the City yesterday.

If you have not received a boil water advisory directly at your residence or would like to know if your residence is one those that have been affected, please call 360-568-3115.
